Vision

Community Vision

Kearny Mesa, best known for its diverse Convoy District, has all the components necessary to become one of San Diego’s biggest revitalization success stories. The Kearny Mesa Community Plan Update, approved in 2020, calls for everything from better public transportation and more pedestrian-friendly streets to increased housing (up to 26,000 additional units) and recreational opportunities. Under the new framework, jobs could increase by 25,000 in this submarket that’s already San Diego’s second largest employment center and a great place for high-paying jobs.

Combined with the Convoy Pan Asian Cultural & Business Innovation District’s bold flavors thanks to new and well-established restaurant concepts, award-winning chefs, impossibly chic bars, bustling breweries and lines out the door, the future is bright for Kearny Mesa.

Community Parking District Conceptual Plan

In support of this forthcoming transformation of the Kearny Mesa community and of the thriving businesses in the Convoy Pan Asian Cultural and Business Innovation District, the Convoy District Partnership seeks to establish a CPD whose purpose is to fund a variety of parking solutions in the area, including but not limited to operating community circulators, entering in shared parking arrangements, establishing signage to assist with wayfinding and guiding drivers to less impacted parking areas, enforcing parking regulations, and enhancing mobility conditions to encourage residents, visitors, and employees to walk or roll to and from local businesses.
